Our Matched Tea & Cheese Tasting was a great success. 17 JCJ supporters packed out Porcelain in Carlton. It was to raise funds to send Stephen Bygrave of Beyond Zero Emissions to Sri Lanka to network with locals to help bring about 100% renewables in that country.

Thanks to our great supporter Scarlett Killaly for hosting the event, and providing expert info about tea and cheese! We raised $300, and several people who couldn’t come transferred funds via our donate page to help the project.

In Bangladesh, in December there was an oil spill in the fragile and internationally recognised Sundarbans.

This event focused the minds of participants at the January BGreen conference, which JCJ supported financially.

We have had a great year, and more is to come for 2015. Our AGM and launch of the website on 23 November went really well. Prof David de Kretser and Dr Colin Long did the launch most ably.

And on a lighter note, Helen and Jack are taking turns on the climbing wall. What better way to finish up after our regular JCJ meeting.

Spare a thought for the people in the countries that we fly to or over on our holidays.

Instead of doing a normal carbon offset, why not direct funds to empowering youth in Bangladesh?

Support the BGreen Project conference to be held in Dhaka in January 2015. Help to train the youth leaders of the future, and empower the people of Bangladesh to act on climate change.
